Yoga has been a part of Kelly's life for over 15 years. She graduated from her Yoga Teacher Training in late Oct. 2010 with Ann Green Yoga through the Yoga Sanctuary in Toronto. After completing the nine month course she returned to Costa Rica and began Chillasana Yoga Surf with her "Tico" husband, John Barrantes. Their intention and mission is to help others of all abilities experience the life changing benefits of both yoga and surf.
With a decade of teaching, Kelly encourages students to discover more about the deeper layers of the self to initiate change, growth and healing in ones life. Kelly’s yoga teachings emphasize breath control (pranayama), proper alignment and movement of the body (asana), and are built around spiritual or intellectual themes to encourage a state of awareness. She is know for her authentic, non-judgmental teaching style and compassion-centered philosophy. Kelly's classes are challenging, fun and allow for greater physical and spiritual development. Believing that yoga should be available to everyone, classes and retreats are designed for all levels. If you join her for a drop-in class or spend a week with her in retreat you will laugh, play, breathe, explore, let-go and find that little light within! She will forever be a student of the practice and feels deeply grateful for the loving wisdom of each teacher and student who has helped her along her journey.
