Hi beautiful people, my name is Kelly!  I arrived to Costa Rica 20 years ago as a backpacker longing to see the world, take a break from the fast paced life I knew and begin a journey of self discovery.  I was aware as soon as I stepped foot in Costa Rica it would be a place I forever held close to my heart.  What I didn't know was the way my life would unfold over the next few years.  To make a long story short, I fell in love with more than just the country, trusted my intuition and have been blessed to live here ever since.  You will find me in gorgeous Playa Carrillo deep in study, on my sacred mat, facilitating yoga teacher trainings & retreats, relaxing with my toes in the sand, the sun upon my face and watching my children run wild and free along the beach.  I am dedicated to personal development and my continued education as an E-RTY 500 yoga educator and mentor.   My husband, John and I are the Founders of Chillasana Yoga Surf and Chillasana Yoga Studio.  We started our small family business in 2010 with the intention to help others with their mental, emotional, energetic, physical and spiritual health while connecting with the elements of Costa Rica.  I am grateful and excited to share with you all that I have integrated into my practice and teaching over the last 20 years.  My purpose as a yoga teacher is to empower you through the practice of yoga, awareness and personal development to create positive changes that allow you to show up more effectively in all areas of your life.  I challenge you to face your blocks and limiting beliefs to create more freedom and flow.  My public classes are intuitively guided and created around those who arrive each day, their specific needs and requests as well as the energy of the group.  Your time on your mat is your experience - I am there to hold space for you to arrive into each breath and each moment exactly as you are.  A space for you to get curious about who you are and how you’re showing up in your life and in your relationships.  I look forward to spending time with you on and off the mat!

Kenneth Graham

Kenneth, an ERYT 500 registered instructor with Yoga Alliance, brings over two decades of experience, leading 20 Teacher Trainings globally and learning from influential teachers across diverse philosophies. His functional yoga approach beautifully mirrors the diversity of each individual's journey.  Consider a canvas given to 1000 people to paint the sun – no two interpretations would be identical.  Similarly, in the realm of body, breath, and movement, Kenneth recognizes that our paths, while interconnected, are uniquely shaped.  Embracing the truth that we are both one and unique, his mission is to guide practitioners in discovering how yoga can be a personalized and transformative journey tailored to their distinct needs.

Kiera Gallup

Originally from the United States, Kiera moved from the High Sierras to beautiful Guanacaste CR in 2021. She’s spent almost 10 years teaching in HATHA and Vinyasa based practices, but ultimately loves all forms of yoga. Working in physical therapy clinics, learning from amazing teachers from around the world, Kiera focuses on an anatomically based approach. Her focus is to guide you to feel really great in YOUR body, at any age, at any flexibility, at any strength, and at any level. Meet yourself on your mat as you are TODAY!

*ALL PUBLIC CLASSES  ARE HELD AT CHILLASANA YOGA SHALA IN PLAYA SAMARA, LOCATED ABOVE MUSMANNI BAKERY IN THE SUPER OLAS PLAZA.  OUR YOGA STUDIO IS A PRIVATE SPACE WITH AC.  IF BY CHANCE THERE IS A LAST MINUTE CHANGE TO OUR SCHEDULE IT WILL BE ANNOUNCED TO OUR SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS ON INSTAGRAM AND FACEBOOK.  YOU CAN CONNECT WITH US BY TELEPHONE OR WHATSAPP ALSO FOR SCHEDULE DETAILS.

Public yoga classes in Playa Samara are held at Chillasana Yoga Shala located above the MusManni Bakery in the Super Olas Plaza.  Please bring your own yoga mat and towel if you have them.  Blocks, mats, bolsters, blankets and straps are provided but you are encouraged to bring your own if you have them.  Our Yoga Shala is a beautiful indoor space with A/C.   

Please plan to arrive 10-15 minutes early to ensure your space, pay your class fee and get settled in.  Cash is preferred, and paypal is available with the CR taxes (IVA).

In town for a while?  We have discounted 5 class passes to help support you and your practice.  The five class pass can be shared between both the yoga and barre classes and is valid for 30 DAYS from your start date.  Please confirm your space in advance.

In town for a while?  We have discounted 10 class passes to help support you and your practice.  The 10 class passes can be shared between both the yoga and barre classes and is valid for 60 DAYS from your start date.

Class packages are non-refundable, non-transferable and the expiry dates are firm.  It is your responsibility to choose what works best for you.

Private Yoga

Private classes can be arranged upon request in your private villa, rental home, beach front or our private climate controlled yoga shala in Playa Samara. 

Private classes in the Playa Carrillo and Playa Samara area are:

 

$125 private or semi-private sessions for 1-2 people. 

$150 private group sessions for the first 3-10 people and $10/ extra person.  

 

Prices can be flexible for larger groups and those who need financial support.

Vinyasa

Experience the power of Vinyasa Yoga with our experienced teacher. Our Vinyasa classes focus on connecting your breath and movement to create a free-flowing practice that becomes a moving meditation. You’ll flow from one asana to the next, increasing your breath awareness and improving your mind-body connection. Slow Flow Vinyasa

Slow Flow Vinyasa – a gentle yet invigorating journey through mindful movement. This class offers a slower-paced Vinyasa experience, inviting you to embrace challenges while also savoring moments of stillness and connection.

Prepare to delve deeper into each posture with extended holds, allowing you to explore and refine your alignment. Embracing deliberate and slower transitions between poses, this class cultivates a heightened sense of mindfulness and awareness throughout your practice.

With a focus on strength-building and a thorough exploration of foundational asanas, you'll have ample time to understand the nuances of each posture.  Expect discussions on alignment, functionality, and target areas to deepen your practice.

SPINE STRENGTHENING & LENGTHENING

Spine Strengthening and Lengthening guides you to open up in a way that allows for optimal extension of your body and spine.  Through this method you practice releasing fear, negative thought patterns, and finding joy in life through the connection to your spine.  Focusing on muscle stimulation and blood flow, this class is intelligently created to lift your heart towards a healthier and happier experience on and off your mat.  

Gentle Yoga

Our Gentle Yoga class is the perfect way to slow down and ground yourself. This Hatha practice is designed for anyone - with very few standing postures, slow movements, gentle stretches, and light meditation throughout the practice. Whether you're a newer yoga student or a seasoned practitioner, this class is an amazing opportunity to focus on all layers of your experience; body, mind, energy, emotions and soul.  Join us for a transformative and relaxing experience.

Multi Barre

Our barre class is an invigorating full-body workout that is both challenging and rewarding. Our classes are designed to work your arms, legs, abdominals, and glutes, building strength and endurance.   There are no dance-like movements, no requirement for flexibility, no cardio, and no previous experience is necessary.  We use small micro movements, light hand-held weights,  resistance bands and balls to help you target specific muscle groups.  This class produces immediate results, regardless of your level of fitness or experience.   Join us for a full body workout - sweat, shake and burn!!!
